Hello! A little introduction in case you’re new here! 💖 I’m Melissa. The creator behind everything at Mellow Doodles.
🏡 I’m 30 years old and live in Stamford, Lincolnshire in the U.K.
👩❤️👨 I live with my amazing boyfriend Jordan. We’ve been together almost 5 years and I love him more every single day! He's been hugely supportive of Mellow Doodles and is always there when I need a pep talk!
🐱🐱 We have one cat Pablo and one kitten Grayson! We’re obsessed with them. They’re named after artists (Pablo Picasso and Grayson Perry).
📚 I have a degree in Creative Advertising and a postgraduate degree in Art Teaching.
✍🏼 I’ve been drawing and writing since I was really tiny. It never seemed possible to bring them both together as a job. It was a happy accident. But it feels like it was meant to be.
🧠 In hindsight, I’ve struggled with my mental health since I was child. It manifested itself in various ways over the years and culminated in a 3 year period of serious depression beginning in 2016. I’m much better now, but still have to be super careful about taking care of myself.
💖 Knowing how debilitating and painful mental health problems can be has led me here. It hurts me to think of anyone going through what I went through. I want to help them with what I’ve learnt. And I want to make people’s lives better, whether that's through sharing tips and advice or creating products that bring people calm and joy.
